Hudson loses appeal against ban
Ryan Hudson
Former England A international Ryan Hudson has lost his appeal against a two-year ban for failing a drugs test.

The 25-year-old former Huddersfield, Wakefield and Castleford forward tested positive for the banned steroid stanozolol soon after joining Bradford.

The Bulls terminated his contract after he was suspended by the Rugby Football League in March.

The RFL's three-man appeal panel agreed that the ban should be in line with the World Anti-Doping Agency code.

Hudson's legal team pointed out at the two-hour hearing in Leeds that in 2003 London Broncos winger Dom Peters was handed a 12-month suspension after testing positive for the same banned substance.

Hudson, who was ordered to pay costs of 293 at the original hearing on 9 March, now has to pay additional costs of 175.
