36 mins: The Blues widen the gap further with Gasnier's second try, which hands Fitzgibbon his third conversion.

33 mins: Barrett's hard work is finally rewarded when he finds a gap in the Maroons line 10 metres out and bursts through to score for the Blues. Fitzgibbon converts to extend the lead.

28 mins: Minichiello thinks he has scored for the Blues when he pounces on Fittler's kick in a move started by Trent Barrett, but the referee is not convinced.

22 mins: Slater makes amends for earlier mistakes with a try down the left side. Smith converts to put Queensland back in front.

1 min: The game is under way and New South Wales are on the attack after Brad Fittler kicks off.

Queensland have been boosted by the return of Michael Crocker as they face New South Wales in the State of Origin decider in Sydney on Wednesday.

Crocker twisted his ankle at a training session but will take his place in the starting line-up.

The final game in the series will also mark the retirement of NSW coach, Phil Gould, and player Brad Fittler from representative rugby league.

The sides are currently level at 1-1 in the three-match series.
