Fittler returns for his 30th State of Origin match |
Australian legend Brad Fittler has reversed his decision not to play State of Origin rugby and will appear in the second match of the series on 16 June. The Sydney Roosters player retired from State of Origin and international games in 2001 and plans to quit the sport all together at the end of the season.
Fittler, 32, replaces injured stand-off Shaun Timmins, who was instrumental in NSW's opening win against Queensland.
Fittler played 34 Tests for Australia, including 20 as captain.
Fittler was one of five New South Wales changes for the second match in Brisbane.
Darren Lockyer returns to skipper the Queensland side after recovering from a rib injury.
