They will now face Huddersfield on 12 October at Halton Stadium for a place in the Super League. Leigh led 13-2 early on with tries from Dale Cardoza and Adam Bristow before unfancied Batley hit back with touchdowns from Kris Lythes and Craig Lingard to sneak 14-13 ahead. Leon Felton gave Leigh a 17-14 half-time lead but Lingard's second try and a penalty from Dean Lawford put Batley in front again. Leigh opened up a match-winning 33-20 advantage with quick-fire tries from David Bradbury, Oliver Marns and Simon Baldwin.
