O'Connor calls for more
Leeds star Barrie McDermott raises the trophy
Barrie McDermott says he has learned a lot
Lancashire prop Terry O'Connor says the Origin Series should be expanded.

"It has been great," said the Wigan star, who was awarded the Roy Powell Medal after being named the man-of-the-series.

"A lot of young lads have come forward and we should carry on with it. Hopefully next year it will be a three-match series.

"The more young lads we get playing representative football, the better it has to be for Great Britain."

Britain coach David Waite will name his squad for July's one-off Test in Australia next week.

And O'Connor's Lancashire front-row partner Barrie McDermott believes he will have learnt a lot from the series.

"It is not just the young players who have benefited," said the Leeds forward.

"I have benefited and I have met a lot of players from different clubs.

"It has enabled me to step back and realise there is still so much of the Super League season to go and it gets you buzzing.

"I have enjoyed working with different players and seeing things from a different perspective. I think we've got a lot out of it."
