The Broncos are desperate to keep the Australia winger but have failed to get enough financial support from their fellow clubs to stave off a lucrative approach from union. "If other sports want to inflate their payments then that is their concern, but rugby league shouldn't enter into bidding wars," said Parramatta chief executive Denis Fitzgerald. "If we have money to spare it should be spent in marketing the game and developing junior talent." Tuqiri is one of the game's hottest, young talents and scored three tries for Queensland in the second State of Origin game. | See also: 05 Jun 02 | Rugby League 22 May 02 | Rugby League 08 Jun 02 | Rugby League Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Rugby League stories now: Links to more Rugby League stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
