Full-time: NSW 32-4 Queensland 75 mins:Hodgson caps an outstanding Origin debut by picking up from the back of a scrum 10 metres from his own line and sprinting 90 metres for a superb individual try. He adds the conversion for good measure. 69 mins: The outstanding Danny Buderus takes play to the Queensland line, and Barrett capitalises with a simple drop goal. 62 mins: Johns receives a rousing ovation as he is forced to limp off with an ankle injury. 61 mins:Tahu grabs a fourth NSW try in the right corner from a superb Barrett pass, after Johns escapes through the middle. The conversion is unsuccessful. 54 mins: Lockyer tests the NSW defence with a series of high kicks, but Hodgson and Moodie are equal to the task. 50 mins: Queensland make progress via Lockyer and Shaun Berrigan up the middle, but Langer's kick ahead goes dead. 49 mins: Tallis returns to the fray from the sin-bin. 47 mins: The Blues siege continues as Schifcofske does well to claim another Johns bomb under pressure from Moodie. 44 mins: Barrett keeps Queensland penned back with a tackle on Lockyer behind his own line. 42 mins: Enjoying their biggest half-time lead in the 23 years of Origin history, NSW keep up the pressure as Lyon narrowly fails to claim a Johns high kick under the posts. Johns again converts from wide out. 21 mins: Queensland almost score at the other end as Dane Carlaw is unable to claim Allan Langer's delicate chip through. 20 mins: Johns' kick through is claimed by Gorden Tallis, who loses the ball and Trent Barrett touches down, but referee Bill Harrigan rules that Tallis was dispossessed illegally. 19 mins: A dashing break from Hodgson launches NSW onto the offensive, but they lose the ball near the Quuensland line. 18 mins: Gidley's tackle on Petero Civoniceva prevents Queensland from scoring a second try. 13 mins: The Maroons build up some momentum for the first time, and hit back with a try from wing Lote Tuqiri, who holds off Johns' tackle to score in the left corner after Darren Smith's initial surge to the line. Clinton Schifcofske pulls the conversion wide. 10 mins: Queensland prop Shane Webcke snuffs out a possible second Blues try as he intercepts Trent Barrett's pass metres from the line. 5 mins: The Blues capitalise on their early pressure with a try from Matthew Gidley in the right corner.
