Skeleton rider Shelley Rudman has set her sights on the World Championships in Germany after her disappointment in the World Cup.

The 29-year-old, from Pewsey in Wiltshire, finished seventh in Cesena, Italy, after struggling with a virus.

She told BBC Wiltshire: "I've got the World Championships coming up now. I'm home for a week then I go out for a week's training.

"My aim is to do as well as I can, I'm not going to put a target on my head."

On her World Cup misfortune Rudman said: "I was really gutted that out of all of the weeks that was the week I decided to come down with a really bad chest infection.

"Considering I felt absolutely horrendous and had a fever on the race day, to come away ranked second in the world, I've got to think that's pretty good."

The World Championships take place in Konigssee, Germany, from 18 February.
