Matthews only took up the event last year

Jersey skeleton bob rider Jo Matthews will be aiming to secure a place in thr British team at the national selection trials in Norway this weekend.

Matthews, who is a member of the Jersey Bobsleigh Club, only started racing skeleton bob in 2009.

If she gains selection onto the British team, Matthews will compete on the Europa Cup Circuit this winter.

Britain has the current Olympic champion in the sport, Amy Williams winning gold at Vancouver 2010.
