Garnett tops First Team poll
Kevin Garnett of the Minnesota Timberwolves

Minnesota forward Kevin led the voting for this year's All-NBA First Team.

He was the only unanimous First Team selection of the 123 writers and broadcasters who vote for the First, Second and Third Teams by positions with points awarded on a 5-3-1 basis.

The 27-year-old, who led the league with a career-best 71 double-doubles, received a league-best 615 points.

He helped the Timberwolves set a team record for wins (58) and secure home-court advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs.

Garnett tied for second in the NBA in scoring (24.2 points) and first in rebounding (13.9), setting career highs in both categories.

Joining him on the First Team were San Antonio forward Tim Duncan, New Jersey guard Jason Kidd and guard Kobe Bryant and centre Shaquille O'Neal of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Duncan becomes only the sixth player to receive the honour in each of his first seven seasons.
