Oliver Milk took the honours over the Olympic distance in the fifth Norwich Triathlon on Sunday.

The Wymondham athlete completed the 1,500m swim, 38km bike ride and 10km run in 1:59:05.

The event started in 2005 with only 100 competitors but almost 500 athletes took part this year.

"It's been a fantastic day. This event has a fantastic reputation, and it's not just with local people," said organiser Jonathan Briggs.

"We've had people travelling from Essex, Cambridge, Ipswich and London, as well as our home-grown members of our club, where we have 300 members."

The Norwich Triathlon is based at Whitlingham Country Park, just outside Norwich city centre, and is organised by the Tri-Anglia triathlon club.
