New faces for Canaries board

Norwich City have named businessman Alan Bowkett as their new chairman, replacing Roger Munby.

Munby and chief executive Neil Doncaster resigned last month following their relegation to League One.

Managing director of the Norfolk newspaper group Archant Stephan Phillips has also joined the board.

The Canaries' new chief executive David McNally is the third new member of the board, which also includes Delia Smith, Michael Wynn Jones and Michael Foulger.

Bowkett told BBC Radio Norfolk he already knows he has a lot of work to do in his new role.

"I'm delighted to be able to contribute, and I think we are facing some very serious issues, not only in our football club but in football generally.

"I'd like to think that perhaps my experience in corporate recovery, turnaround and private equity will help the club maximise the resources it's got," he said.
