Greenfield finished first in 42 mins 20 secs at Portlet Bay

Novice Jonathan Greenfield took the honours in the first race of the De Putron Summer Triathlon Series 2009 held at Portlet Bay on Sunday.

The first woman home, Gail King, led after the 500m swim but was overtaken in the 13k bike and 3k run.

Greenfield finished in 42 mins 20 secs followed by Hubert Nicolle, Richard Stapley, Mark Naftel and King.

Leo Rice took first place in the junior race followed by Dan Tostevin and Joe Le Page.
