Four young Guernsey swimmers secured age group titles in the Hampshire County Championships at the weekend. Hannah Rosumek, nine, won eight events and set a personal best of three minutes 25.54 seconds in the 200m breaststroke in her first county event. Miles Munro, 13, set a new 50m freestyle county record of 26.31s. Will Russell, nine, won his age group, while Kristina Neves, 13, set six championship records on the way to winning her age title. Munro currently holds the 50m freestyle records for ages 10 to 13 and placed first in five other events and third in the 50m breaststroke. Rosumek and Munro were part of a team of 17 from the Beau Sejour Barracudas who had met the qualifying standards to compete. Six swimmers, including Russell and Neves, from Guernsey Swimming Club travelled to the event and recorded 18 personal best times, 13 first places, two second places and set six county records.
