Cheltenham start their National League water polo season on Saturday boosted by the return of key man Rob Parker. He is the latest in a long list of Cheltenham players to achieve international recognition. Coach Martyn Thomas told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "Rob has been away for nine months, and recently played at the European Championships. "Last season was disappointing but I hope we can push Lancaster for top spot this time." Cheltenham play three matches in Cardiff this weekend - against Rotherham and London side Penguin on Saturday, and Manchester on Sunday. Thomas added: "The team are fitter than ever and our preparations have been harder than ever, so I'm really hopeful. "We recently won the Bristol and West league, when we came out on the right side of a few tight games and that has given the lads a lot of confidence."
