Twose hopes to break the 50m backstroke record of 30.97 seconds

Exeter swimming club's Jessica Twose won silver in the 100m backstroke at the 2009 National Age Group Championships in Sheffield.

Twose, 13, finished second in the final in a time of 1:06:29.

Fellow Exeter swimmer, George Fernley, also had a strong championships, placing ninth overall in the Bagcat points and reaching four finals.

Twose will be back in Sheffield on Saturday to compete in the senior 50m bacsktroke finals.
