 Guernsey youngsters lifted two titles at the Island's junior squash open |
Issy Norman-Ross and Jack Turvey both secured age group titles at the Credit Suisse Guernsey Junior Squash Open. Eight-year-old Turvey competed in the U-11 boys taking on Manuel Paquemar from France. After taking an early lead Turvey had to make up lost ground and won the deciding game to secure the title. Issy Norman-Ross took on England's U-13 number one Lucy Beecroft, in the U-17 girls, but after losing the first game Norman-Ross fought back to win 3-1. Mark Le Conte played well at the international event finishing second to Hampshire's Lewis Stubbington in the boys U-19 class, with Guernsey's Zac Parson coming third. Harry Martel missed the the U-17 Boys trophy after losing the deciding game against Lincolnshire's Hamish Falconer who won 10-8.
