Bailey was competing in her second event since surgery |
Lincolnshire squash player Tania Bailey has suffered a setback in her return to the game after a four-month lay-off following surgery on her right knee. Bailey, 28, had muscle problems as she lost in four games to Rebecca Chiu in round one of the Singapore Open. She said on her website: "I was 1-0 and 7-4 up and felt my abductor go a bit, probably because I was trying to hold off my knee and I wasn't moving right. "I should be pleased to be back on court but my knee is just not good." Last week Bailey reached the semi-final of the Malaysia Open, her first major tournament since knee surgery, but she admitted: "My knee has been swollen since Malaysia. "It is annoying that as soon as I do anything on it, it goes bad again. It's more annoying because I felt like I was getting somewhere last year when I was injury free, and I'm desperate to get things sorted."
