Hamilton is the first British windsurfer to win at the World Youths |
Devon windsurfer Izzy Hamilton has taken a promising lead after the first five races of the RSX World Youth Championships in Cyprus. The 18-year-old is on course to retain the title that she won last year in Bodrum, Turkey. Hamilton has won three of the five races so far in Limassol, giving herself a points total of seven. Poland's Hanna Zembrzuska is in second place on 14 points, with France's Helene Noesmoen in third on 19 points. The windsurfers will continue racing until Sunday, with a further 11 races scheduled to determine the overall 2010 champion.
