 Hamilton celebrates after clinching the Youth World RS:X title |
Devon windsurfer Izzy Hamilton has been crowned the Youth World RS:X Windsurf Champion in Bodrum, Turkey. Hamilton, who is the first British windsurfer to win the title, had to fight off tough competition from 30 of the world's best young windsurfers. The 16-year-old from Holsworthy coped best with the 15 to 20 knot wind conditions in Bodrum. Hamilton recently won silver at the Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championships at Buzios in Brazil. She said: "I was really happy with my silver at the ISAF Youth Worlds, but now I've got the gold and am a world champion, it's just fantastic."
