Cornish sailor Freddie Grogono has been crowned the UK Optimist Junior National Champion in Weymouth.

The 11-year-old beat off fierce competition from an international field, with 77 entries in the fleet to claim the top prize.

Grogono, who is a member of St Mawes Sailing Club, took the title with six race wins out of the 17 races.

Second place went to Jack Parkin from Hayling Island, while Ireland's Daire Cournane finished in third.
