Guernsey rowers break records at the Clameur Challenge

Margi Jorgensen broke the previous ladies single record by over five minutes

Guernsey's rowers were in record-breaking mood at the Clameur Challenge, with new best times set in five of the seven categories.

Margi Jorgensen set a new record in the ladies sliding singles, completing the 16.4km course in one hour 34 minutes and 31 seconds.

Paul Isaacs and Joe Paul set a new record in the men's pairs while Steve Pipe and Ali Gavet won the mixed pairs.

Sydney Charles and Geomarine won the ladies and men's fours respectively.

There were also wins for James Briggs in the men's singles, and Bee TS in the mixed sliding fours.

The event was one of the Guernsey Rowing Club's 2010 Championship races.
