Alan Campbell claimed World Cup glory in the single sculls |
Coleraine rowers Alan Campbell and Richard Archibald were crowned World Cup champions at the Lucerne regatta in Switzerland on Sunday afternoon. British single sculler Campbell was fourth in his final but won the World Cup overall due to previous results.
Archibald and team-mates Gearoid Towey, Eugene Coakley and Paul Griffin won their lightweight men's four final by half a length from France.
They also topped their class after the three World Cup events.
Both Campbell and Archibald's crew claimed a win and a second in the opening two World Cup regattas.
