Coleraine rower Richard Archibald has won a gold medal as part of the Ireland lightweight fours crew at the second leg of the Rowing World Cup in Poland. The Irish four of Archibald, Gearoid Towey, Eugene Coakley and Paul Griffin won the 2000 metre event in Poznan on Saturday morning in 5min 55.23seconds.
They won their heat on Friday, having been silver medalists behind Germany at the first leg in Munich last month.
Alan Campbell took silver in the single sculls final at the regatta.
Campbell qualified in second place for the final after finishing second in his heat behind New Zealand's Mahe Drysdale and then came home second behind the world champion in the final.
Campbell won the single scull event in the World Cup opener in Munich.
The Irish lightweight women's double sculls of Donegal's Sinead Jennings and Niamh NiCheilleachair won the bronze medal behind two Chinese crews.
