Team Bath are unbeaten under Garland in this season's Superleague |
Team Bath head coach Jess Garland says British netball is reaping the reward of four years of Superleague action. Garland takes her team to the season's Grand Final in Coventry on Saturday chasing a third title after victories in the inaugural campaign and 2007. Defending champions Mavericks, who they beat in those wins, lie in wait. "Leeds got into the play-offs this year for the first time which is fantastic for the growth of netball and Superleague," she told BBC Points West. "It's been great to see some of the teams in the bottom four really compete and contest. "We've had some quite big results against some of those teams, but you can see their improvement and with the nature of the group of players we've got you'd expect some big results against those teams at the moment." TeamBath boast an impressive array of international stars and ran through the regular season with a 100% record, which they took into the first round of the play-offs where they beat second-placed Loughborough Lightning to book their place in the final. Mavericks saw off Leeds and then edged Loughborough in the play-offs to set up a repeat of the first two finals and last season's semi-final, when they came out on top.
