Carroll joined Vipers in May |
Newcastle Vipers forward Jamie Carroll has left the club for an unnamed Central Hockey League club. Carroll, 27, will return to his native USA after six and a half months with the Elite League club and coach Danny Stewart has thanked him for his work. He said: "With the uncertainty around the club, other teams have been contacting him for a month and he has made the decision to leave. "I wish him the best back in America, and thank him for what he's done here." Stewart added: "Although it's tough on the guys and myself, Jamie expressed how sorry he felt, but as it may be his last year of playing, he was offered the chance to play in a very good place in the Central League. "He didn't want to let the window close while our future was unknown." Carroll leaves financially struggling Vipers having made scored eight goals and made 20 assists in 22 appearances.
