Cloutier draws a save out of JF Perras in the win over Braehead |
Hull Stingrays coach Sylvain Cloutier admitted that his side were not at their best in the 4-2 Elite League win over Braehead Clan. After the Rays took a 3-0 lead, Braehead hit back to make the score 3-2 before Jason Silverthorn's late powerplay goal sealed Hull the points. "It was a big win and a big match but I don't think we played our best hockey game," Cloutier told BBC Humberside. "We kept our composure but we know we can play better than that." Goals in the second period from Andrew Coburn, Jereme Tendler and Konstantin Kalmikov gave the Stingrays a commanding lead. But Hull were pegged back and looked like conceding an equaliser before Silverthorn's goal sealed their fourth win in five games. "There have been other games (this season) where we have deserved to win and didn't," added Cloutier. "We found a way to win, which was key. "In the second period they were all over us and if it wasn't for netminder Christian Boucher it could have been a different story."
