Cloutier has already signed NHL star Drew Bannister in recent weeks

Hull Stingrays player-coach Sylvain Cloutier has confirmed he has the backing of the club's owners to make further signings.

The Stingrays are currently seventh in the Elite League with only five wins from 16 games played.

Cloutier told BBC Radio Humberside: "I've got the green light from the owners and as a coach you're always looking to improve.

"If I can make this team better then I am going to do it."
