Maslovskis joined from Ask Ogre in the Belarussian League this season |
Andreas Maslovskis has praised Telford Tigers fans for helping the side secure their second win of the season, 4-2 over Swindon Wildcats. "They stay with us and give us such good support, especially at home," the Latvian told BBC Radio Shropshire. Maslovskis, Ashley Calvert, Josh Bruce and Scott McKenzie scored for Tigers. Player-coach Tom Watkins said: "We shut Swindon down, and if we'd converted a couple of the earlier powerplays the game would have been dead and buried." He added: "Credit to Swindon, they made it very hard for us, they pressured, they didn't let us settle on the puck and they moved it around very well. "But our guys bought into what we were doing, and we didn't give up any easy opportunities." The result was reassuring after Tigers stumbled to a 6-1 defeat at Slough Jets the previous evening (13 Nov). Watkins was the Telford scorer, with Maslovskis - the man of the match - providing the assist. This coming weekend, Tigers have back-to-back fixtures against Bracknell Bees (20 & 21 Nov).
