Robinson notched up 153 penalty minutes in his previous spell with Blaze

Coventry Blaze have re-signed defenceman Jason Robinson on a short-term deal as cover for fellow Canadian Jeff Smith.

Smith has been ruled out until the new year after injuring his knee during last month's defeat by Cardiff Devils at the Skydome.

Robinson helped Blaze clinch the Elite League title last season.

Coach Paul Thompson said: "He is a big guy and he holds guys accountable and he is something our team needs."
