Coventry Blaze broke their club record for consecutive wins in the Elite League with victory over Braehead Clan on Sunday.

The 3-2 success at the Skydome was Coventry's 11th on the spin and keeps them fourth in the table.

Blaze went ahead through Luke Fulghum in the second period only to be pegged back by Dominic Noel's strike.

Matt Soderstrom and Fulghum put Blaze ahead before the third with Jon Landry ensuring a nervous end to the game.

Coventry captain Jonathan Weaver made his 1,000th in the victory and drew praise from his coach Paul Thompson: "It is a fantastic achievement for a fantastic professional.

"He has been at the top of his game wherever he has played and has been a difference-maker - and he still is."
