Belfast Giants beat hosts Nottingham Panthers on penalties after a 1-1 draw to go through to meet Cardiff Devils in Sunday's Elite League play-off final. The Giants scored a powerplay goal through Michael Jacobsen in the fourth minute and held that slender lead until Jade Galbraith's equaliser on 57:13. Steve Thornton's Belfast side won the shoot-out 3-2 with Jeff Szwez (2) and Colin Shields hitting the net. Phil Hill and Matt Miller got two each in Cardiff's 6-3 win over Coventry.
