Neilson is in his second season as coach of the Panthers |
Nottingham Panthers coach Corey Neilson wants his side to end their Elite League season on a high as Edinburgh Capitals visit the National Ice Centre. His side's title hopes are very slim and will be totally ended if they lose at home to the Capitals on Wednesday. "We are not giving up hope and all we can do is win our last three games," Neilson told BBC Radio Nottingham. "Our chances look slim but stranger things have happened in sport so we won't give up until it's over." For Panthers to add the league title to their Challenge Cup win, they have to hope Coventry lose their remaining three matches, two of which are against the Edinburgh. | I want us to end our home league campaign on a high for the fans |
They also need Belfast to win in Coventry on Sunday, but at the same time rely on Newcastle beating the Giants the night before. "I just want my guys to give it all they've got, like they have done all season. I am proud of what we have achieved so far and I have seen an great improvement from last season," said Neilson "We have one or two injury problems at the moment, but the guys are up for the game and I want us to end our home league campaign on a high for the fans."
