Luke Fulghum celebrates his winner at the Skydome |
Coventry Blaze bounced back from Saturday's defeat to Elite League title rivals Nottingham Panthers with a 6-5 overtime win over Edinburgh Capitals. Luke Fulghum's winner moved the Blaze three points clear of Belfast Giants at the top just a day after they had gone down 7-2 to the Panthers. Goals from Fulgham and Greg Owen gave the hosts a 2-0 lead before Dan Welch pulled one back for the Scottish side. The match was levelled at 2-2 and 4-4, before Blaze again went ahead through Dan Carlson only for Simon Lambert to ensure that the Capitals left with at least a point. But, less than two minutes into overtime, Fulgham netted his 45th goal of the season to give victory to Coventry.
