Nottingham Panthers will begin their Elite League season at home to Belfast Giants on Saturday, 5 September. This is followed by a trip to Coventry in the Challenge Cup a day later. Their first home match against arch-rivals Sheffield will take place on Saturday, 7 November and the two sides also meet in Nottingham on Boxing Day. All eight Elite League clubs will take part in a new competition likened to cricket's Twenty20, which will take place in Sheffield in October. Panthers coach Corey Neilson said: "The cliche certainly applies this season, there will be no easy games in any competition. "We're playing two warm-up games in Hull across the Bank Holiday weekend, then there's the big game against Sheffield in the Charity Shield. "The league starts with the visit of Belfast. We'll be ready and I can't wait."
