Sheffield Steelers player-coach Doug Sheppard has agreed a new contract to stay in South Yorkshire next season, BBC Radio Sheffield reports. It will be the Canadian's third year at the current Elite League champions, and he will continue to assist head coach Dave Matsos. "It's been an unbelievable first two years for me, so it was an easy decision for myself," said Sheppard. "I love working with Matty and coaching is something I want to get into."
