Sheffield Steelers added the Elite League play-off title to their league championship crown with a 2-0 victory over the Nottingham Panthers. Steelers took the lead through Steve Munn in the first period, and Ryan Finnerty netted in the third session. Sheffield's defence was the key as Panthers forwards struggled to break down their formidable wall. They closest they came was a double save from Jody Lehman to deny Nick Toneys and Matthew Myers. Panthers coach Corey Neilson said: "Sheffield are a great hockey club. I think tonight we out-chanced them and you can't argue with that. "But they beat us and ground out another win and did their thing. They lined up guys in front of the net and blocked shots. "I think my players worked very, very hard but there wasn't any answer. | 606: DEBATE |
"I think possibly I was out-coached by Mr Matsos - well not possibly, they won and all credit to them."
