Swindon have completed the signings of Bracknell Bees pair Matt Foord and Joe Baird for next season. Defenceman Baird, 28, was the Bees' captain last season while Foord, 27, is a forward with Elite League experience at both Cardiff and Nottingham. Wildcats coach Ryan Aldridge played with both during his time at Bracknell. He said: "Foordy will do whatever it takes for the team, Joe is the British defenceman I have been talking about and looking for." Swindon had previously announced that Jozef Kohut and Aaron Nell would both be returning to the Link Centre, after an ultimately disappointing season in which the Wildcats only just made it to the play-offs. Aldridge thinks the new additions will really add to the squad. "Matt brings years of experience to the club and is the kind of player that will bring the team together," he added. "He was with me when we won the double in Bracknell and was a massive part of the team, he came to play every night then and more importantly he came to win. "Joe is a no-nonsense, hard hitting player. As mean a player that he can be on the ice, Joe is as bigger gentleman off the ice which makes him a huge all round signing for us."
