Manchester Phoenix player-coach Tony Hand has agreed a new three-year contract at the Altrincham Ice Dome. The deal ends any doubts over Hands' future, following reports the former NHL player was set to leave the club. Hand, 41, said: "I'm aware of a lot of speculation over the future of the club, but that's not affected my thinking. It was an easy decision." Phoenix have lost both the Challenge Cup and Knockout Cup Finals to Belfast Giants in the last two weeks.
