Sheffield Steelers are through to the Elite League play-off semi-finals despite a 5-4 second-leg defeat in Edinburgh on Sunday. The Capitals were unable to overturn a six-goal first-leg deficit with the Steelers winning 12-7 on aggregate. "Coming after the 8-2 win on Friday, it was a little bit of going through the motions," Steelers head coach Dave Matsos told the club's website. The Steelers will face Cardiff Devils in Saturday's semi-final at 1300 BST. There will be full commentary on the game on the BBC South Yorkshire website. Jeff Legue and Robert Dowd got the only Steelers goals in the second period in Edinburgh. Cardiff Devils booked their semi-final date in the final four weekend in Nottingham after an overtime win against Belfast Giants. The other semi-final sees Coventry Blaze take on Nottingham Panthers.
