Jeff Legue scored twice for the Steelers

Sheffield Steelers all but booked their place in the Elite League play-off semi-finals with an 8-2 win against Edinburgh Capitals on Friday.

After a tight first scoreless period the Steelers netted five times in the second to take a 5-2 lead into the final session.

Jeff Legue hit the net twice and Joey Talbot once to seal an emphatic win.

The two teams will meet again in the quarter-final second-leg in Scotland on Sunday evening.

Legue told BBC Radio Sheffield that he felt that the Steelers were not flattered by the scoreline.

"I think we started off really well and deserved to win. The guys played well," said Legue.
