Chelmsford Chieftains are just one game away from clinching the English National Ice Hockey League Division Two South title. The Chieftains beat the Invicta Mustangs 10-5 at the Riverside on Sunday night, meaning one more win will secure them promotion to Division One. The Essex side's cause was aided the previous evening when nearest rivals Vectis Tigers lost at Swindon. The Chieftains could be crowned away at Swindon Wildcats this Saturday. Richard Whiting and Sean Martin both hit a brace in the Essex team's defeat of the Mustangs. They were ably backed-up single strikes from Darren Brown, Sean Easton, Ross Brears, Derek Whitbread, Danny Hammond and Jerry Pavlus.
