Nottingham Panthers have slipped to fourth in the Elite League after going down to 3-1 home defeat to Coventry Blaze on Sunday. Matthew Myers gave the Panthers the lead before Sylvain Deschatelets and Erik Hjalmarrson scored for Coventry. Danny Stewart completed the scoring for the Blaze with an empty net goal. Panthers coach Corey Neilson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We came out in the first period and initiated and in the second they had a point to prove." He continued: "We could have been better in the second but they had their game and they played pretty well." The Panthers were missing British forward David Clarke after picking up an ankle injury against Cardiff. Nottingham, who notched a 5-3 win away to the Devils on Saturday, are now 11 points behind league-leaders Sheffield Steelers.
