Meyers is ready for a Christmas showdown with the Steelers |
Nottingham Panthers captain Danny Meyers has said his side are ready for their biggest two games of the season. Panthers travel to Sheffield on Boxing Day, before the two sides meet in Nottingham the following night. Panthers go into the game on the back of a 4-0 win in Coventry, their first success in the Skydome for three years. Meyers told BBC Radio Nottingham: "They fully deserve our respect with them being top of the league, but we're ready for it and up for the battle." Saturday's match at the National Ice Centre is a complete sell-out and Meyers is urging the Nottingham crowd to intimidate the Steelers. "It would be great if all our fans could wear white in a show of unity. It doesn't have to be a Panthers shirt, it can be a plain white shirt. "When the guys skate out and see the fans all wearing white it will be a boost for us and intimidating for the opposition."
