Delroy Facey's close-range effort earned Notts County a much-needed win.

The striker missed a couple of fine chances but converted a cross from Myles Weston in the 37th minute to secure maximum points.

Grimsby should have gone ahead when Adam Proudlock's header from Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro's cross was cleared off the line by Mitch Hanson.

After the break Notts striker Sean Canham brought a fine save from Phil Barnes but Grimsby rarely threatened.
