Steelers' Legue happy with form

Sheffield Steelers' Jeff Legue says he is playing with renewed confidence now.

Legue was the penalty hero on Sunday, scoring twice in the Steelers' 3-2 shootout victory at Cardiff as they went second in the Elite League.

The forward told BBC Radio Sheffield: "The puck's not jumping off my stick now, it seems to be sticking with me and getting in the right spot."

"It's all going right for me right now," the former Germany-based 27-year-old added.

Joey Talbot scored the Steelers' other goal on Sunday.

Legue was also on target in the Steelers' 4- 1 win over leaders Coventry Blaze on Saturday.

Ashley Tait, Jonathan Weaver and Brad Cruickshank were the other Steelers scorers at the Sheffield Arena.

The Steelers are now two points behind Coventry with two games in hand.

With Belfast and Nottingham both dropping points it was a good weekend for Sheffield Steelers coach Dave Matsos.

"It cements our position in the standings and whilst it is still very early we are just where we want to be, challenging at the very top - just two points down with two games in hand."

The Steelers now travel to fourth-placed Belfast on Friday and there is full commentary on BBC Radio Sheffield from 1900 GMT.
