Steve Thornton's side beat the Steelers in the Challenge Cup game

The Belfast Giants are through to the Challange Cup semi-finals after a 5-1 win over the Sheffield Steelers at the Odyssey Arena on Saturday night.

The Giants were two goals ahead after 10 minutes thanks to Tyler Howells and Andrew Martin strikes.

Jonathan Phillips pulled one back for the visitors before Paul Deniset and Bobby Robins made it 4-1.

Nathan Gillies gave Sheffield hope before Deniset sealed the victory with a goal after 38 minutes.
