Bracknell Bees beat local rivals Slough Jets 7-3 in a challenge game at the Hangar to set themselves up for the English Premier League season in style.

Joe Greener scored twice, with impressive debutant Andrius Kaminskas and Matt Foord also registering as the Bees dominated from start to finish.

Goals from Steve Moria, Kevin Phillips and Michael Bowman kept Slough in touch for much of the game.

But new boy Tom Duggan stole the show with a hat-trick to seal the win.

Both teams introduced a host of new faces following a summer where Bracknell are widely believed to have built a competitive side, whereas Slough have struggled.

The Jets have overcome financial uncertainty to start the season, but begin their campaign with just three of their four available import slots filled, having lost talismanic defender Jan Krajicek over the summer.

Bracknell were quick to expose the inevitable defensive frailties Krajicek's departure has left, with Jets youngsters Adam Jones and Anthony Norman unable to fill the void left by the giant Czech.

While big-name signing Jeff Hutchins had a quiet Bees debut, powerhouse Kaminskas combined to devastating effect with his new team-mates, scoring Bracknell's third and contributing to several goals.

But 18-year-old Duggan, who has spent the last four years playing in the United States, won plaudits for an electrifying debut.

He rounded off a comprehensive victory with the final two goals of the night to earn his hat-trick.

Bracknell will take renewed confidence into their tough opening encounter at Guildford, but Slough's sluggish performance will worry boss Steve Moria ahead of the visit of Telford on Saturday.
