Belfast complete dismal weekend
The Belfast Giants completed another dismal weekend as they suffered a 3-2 away defeat against Cardiff Devils on Sunday night.

The Giants looked on course for a draw after goals from player/coach Ed Courtenay and Ryan Smith.

But Cardiff grabbed a winner is the final five minutes with Brad Voth scoring on the powerplay.

This latest setback came after Saturday's 2-0 reverse against Hull Stringrays in Dundalk.

The Elite League's basement club now have only claimed two wins in their opening nine Elite League games.

The weekend defeats came despite Courtenay's warning last week that his squad were playing for their jobs.

On Saturday night, the new surroundings of the Dundalk Ice Dome couldn't inspire the Giants as goals from Lee Mitchell and Paul Cabana earned Hull a 2-0 victory.

New signing Shaun Sutter started in Saturday's game but his first real involvement saw him picking up a two-minute penalty for holding.

Lee Mitchell put the Stringrays ahead in the 12th minute and Cabana's last-minute goal ensured Hull's victory.
