Todd Kelman takes over as General manager next year |
Belfast Giants star Todd Kelman will move from the rink to the boardroom next year when he replaces John Elliott as the club's General Manager. Canadian defenceman will become Commercial Manager next month while continuing to play for the Giants until the end of the 2006/7 season.
Kelman will then retire and start as General Manager next May.
"I have some ideas for the future including introducing a new merchandise range," said Kelman.
Kelman, who has played over 350 games for the Odyssey team since their formation in 2000, has developed his business credentials as Sales Manager for a local printing firm.
"Let there be no mistake, not all sports athletes know the very different rules and challenges involved in the business of running a club," he added.
"It's a very different 'game' but I'm confident I know the key players in the commercial arena.
"I will very much be concentrating on the commercial priorities."
